By purchasing this program, you agree to allow us to take photographs and/or video recordings of your child during class for the purpose of promoting and marketing Spiffy's kids pottery programs. These images and videos may be used on our website, social media, and other promotional materials. About this class
- Week 1 Pinch Pot Character: Using the pinch pot technique, kids will create a fun character — featuring a head, torso, arms, and legs (or paws!) — such as a cat, a dog, or a little gnome. We’ll focus on keeping forms hollow and adding small airways while letting creativity flow. This playful project introduces essential ceramic techniques that help keep pieces safe in the kiln.
- Week 2 Functional Bowl: Kids will learn how to use a mold to create a bowl shape. Once the form is made, they can add feet and decorations. After removing the piece from the mold, we’ll focus on making the inside fun — adding a character, handles, or any creative details to make each bowl unique.
- Week 3 Mushroom House: Kids will learn to create and customize a structurally sound cylinder that will become a magical mushroom house.We’ll make the mushroom top, then personalize it with doors, windows, and everything a fairy or gnome needs for a cozy, whimsical home!
- Week 4 Color Day: Kids will receive all their projects and paint with underglazes. A fun, creative wrap-up to a month of awesome clay adventures!
Upon completion of the 4-week kids class, guardians will receive an email notification when the pieces are ready for pick-up.
