About Spiffy and Jeffery
Founder / Operator
Spiffy Pottery Studio was founded by Jeffery, a Taiwanese-American based in the Bay Area, California. With a background in fine arts and industrial design, Jeff's strong desire to create is at the heart of his work. Hand-made pottery perfectly combines these two passions.
Jeff's journey into ceramics began in 2018 when he became a student at City College of San Francisco - Fort Mason Center. He quickly realized that pursuing ceramics was a path he wanted to develop further. A few months later, he began working at several pottery studios, both in San Francisco and his hometown of Taipei. In 2022, Jeff decided to take the leap and start his own venture, leading to the establishment of The Spiffy Studio.

Initially, The Spiffy Studio began as an after-work project for Jeff, focused on making and selling handmade functional ceramic pieces. However, working as a full-time designer during the week and selling pottery on weekends soon became unfulfilling. Driven by his passion for teaching and exploring all aspects of working with clay, Jeff began to consider opening his own pottery studio. After a few years of refining the idea and months of hard work, Spiffy Pottery Studio officially opened for business in February 2025.

Meet Victoria
Program and Studio Operations Associate / Instructor
Victoria is a multi-faceted instructor at Spiffy, where she teaches handbuilding, wheel throwing, and is responsible for creating and leading the youth program. She designs fun and engaging activities for children and teens. With years of experience as a handbuilding sculptor, Victoria is passionate about guiding students through the creative process and helping them discover their artistic potential. Teaching isn’t just her profession — it’s a true calling, and she finds fulfillment in inspiring others to express themselves through art.
Victoria’s journey in the arts began in Brazil, where she earned an associate's degree in Animation from the University of Belas Artes. After relocating to California, she earned her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. During her final years in college, she had the opportunity to start her sculpture career as an assistant to renowned sculptor Mario Chiodo in Napa Valley, where she contributed to large-scale Social Justice Monuments.
Victoria's teaching career began as a teaching assistant at the Academy of Art University. She later became a manager and teacher at a children's art school in Cupertino, where she created and managed sculpture classes for kids and teenagers. Her programs achieved great success, with students earning recognition in local art competitions.
Victoria looks forward to continuing her journey as a teacher, excited to help her students grow creatively and develop confidence in their artistic skills. She is thrilled to be part of a community that nurtures creativity and allows individuals to explore their potential through sculpture.
