⌕ Handbuilding Instructor for Kids (Part-Time)
This position is perfect for a passionate educator who enjoys fostering creativity, developing fine motor skills, and building confidence in children while creating a joyful and inspiring classroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize materials and tools for each class
- Independently lead kids’ handbuilding classes and teach handbuilding techniques, including pinch, coil, slab, joining, and surface design
- Demonstrate tools and techniques clearly and coach students with patience, encouragement, and positivity
- Provide guidance and support throughout the creative process, adapting instruction to different skill levels and needs
- Manage classroom activities efficiently while maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment
- Follow the studio’s setup and cleanup guidelines
- Preserve and organize students’ work after each class
- Communicate with the studio team regarding student progress, classroom needs, and any concerns
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months to 1 year of experience working in a ceramics studio
- Experience teaching children ages 4-12 is required
- Strong handbuilding skills are required, including pinch, coil, slab, joining, and surface design techniques
- A great understanding of the overall pottery process is a plus
- Lead with kindness, patience, and a positive attitude
- Enjoy “creative chaos” and can create a fun, engaging classroom environment
- Excellent people skills with the ability to connect warmly and positively with both children and adults
- Ability to adapt to challenges, changes, and unexpected situations with a calm and flexible approach
- Physically able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand during classes
- Availability for a part-time schedule, with shifts available on:
- Tuesdays, 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM
- Thursdays, 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM
- Saturdays, 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM and/or 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM
- Sundays, 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM
- Pay: Starting at $25.00 - $32.00 per hour, based on experience

⌕ Studio Manager (Full-Time)
This position combines studio operations and community engagement. The Studio Manager will help ensure the studio runs smoothly while supporting the growth of a welcoming and vibrant creative community.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and support daily studio operations — loading & unloading kilns, making and maintaining glazes, and general studio upkeep
- Manage behind-the-scenes class logistics
- Manage marketing efforts, including maintaining Spiffy’s Instagram account and creating engaging content and advertising materials
- Provide support to students and members, answering questions and creating a welcoming environment
- Help grow our offerings and strengthen our studio community
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive creative space
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience working in a ceramics studio
- Ability to carry up to 25 lbs
- Self-motivated with the ability to anticipate needs and take initiative
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets) and experience creating content (reels, posts, stories) for Instagram
- Availability for 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts; schedule is flexible and may include weekday evenings (1pm – 9pm) and/or weekend daytime hours (10am – 6pm)
- Competitive compensation commensurate with experience, including 15-day paid time off (PTO)
