4-Week Curriculum Overview
Week 1: Bowls & Working with Larger Amounts of Clay
Expand your throwing skills by learning how to use tools such as ribs to shape and refine dinner-sized bowls. We’ll also explore techniques for working with larger amounts of clay beyond your usual comfort zone.
Week 2: Plate Making Techniques
Creating plates can be challenging, so we’ll guide you through multiple approaches. This includes combining wheel-throwing and slab-building methods to achieve consistent, well-balanced forms.
Week 3: Trimming & Handle Making
Refine your craftsmanship with an in-depth focus on trimming. You’ll learn how to clean up forms, create finished foot rings, and make and attach handles with confidence and precision.
Week 4: Glazing Fundamentals & Beyond
There’s more to glazing than just application. We’ll cover glaze theory and essential topics such as food safety, glaze fitment, different application methods, test tiles, and troubleshooting common glazing issues.
We reserve the right to cancel the class due to low enrollment or for other necessary reasons.
