By purchasing this program, you agree to allow us to take photographs and/or video recordings of your child during class for the purpose of promoting and marketing Spiffy's kids pottery programs. These images and videos may be used on our website, social media, and other promotional materials. About this class
- Week 1 Funny Face: Kids will dive into the world of funny smiles, silly faces, and weird features as they create their own face sculptures. Using the slab technique, we will learn how to cut, shape, and attach clay pieces to bring a one-of-a-kind face to life. Big noses? Wiggly tongues? Gigantic eyebrows? Absolutely! It’s all about exploring imagination!
- Week 2 Little World: kids will become tiny world-builders! Kids will create special structures that hold a whimsical landscape inside. Will it be a cozy fairy house, a secret garden, or a dreamy underwater scene? As we build, we will explore how to shape strong forms, add fun little details, and bring a whole imaginative world to life — all inside one sculpture!
- Week 3 Mug and Saucer: Kids will handbuild their very own mug and saucer set using a variety of clay techniques from shaping the base to adding decorative details. Will your mug have a unicorn handle? Maybe the saucer has flower petals?
- Week 4 color day: Kids will receive all their projects and paint with underglazes. A fun, creative wrap-up to a month of awesome clay adventures!
Upon completion of the 4-week class, parents will receive an email notification regarding the availability of their child's completed pieces for pick-up.
